Biographical Information about David Jensen: The French Impressionists are a primary influence in David’s work. They allowed us to see the individual brush strokes that created the beautiful illusion of light and texture. Also evidently appreciated is the Abstract Expressionist, who were able to conjure strong emotional responses through the use of color and texture, leaving the subject matter entirely secondary. Most of David’s work is derived from the lush and varied landscape of Sonoma Valley. He is often found painting in a field, as these country scenes have a special place in his heart, stemming from his upbringing on a rural dairy farm in Minnesota. His paintings are about creating mood with color and texture and less about recognizable objects. He has had a long career as an award winning illustrator and has won awards from the West Art Directors Club, The Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, and has been featured in Print Magazine.
